Yeah, man I got pwnt in a similar fashion. I dated this girl for 2.5 years. I knew her inside and out. I loved her to death, and was just head over heels for her. All was well and happy, and I loved her and she loved me and oh sweet joy, I could be this way forever. I could see myself with her, and her family is nice blah blah blah.

Then she went to college.

After being there for 2 weeks, I got the oh-so dreaded line "I love you like a brother." Fuck. Turns out she had met a dude that past summer when she went to tour the school, and had been corresponding with him, and she ended up dating him before we had even broken up.

Well, looking back, I was stupid, and blinded so blinded by 'love' that I couldn't truly see what a conniving bitch she was. I can count on one hand the words I have said to her since then.

My only advice is, give it time. That's the best remedy. It will hurt for a while, but eventually, you'll get over it. Don't hurry into another relationship, either. Usually, those just turn out to be a combination of haste and penis.
