Well, I DID'NT blow my sub!!

Got in Baby II today to drive to my once a month nursing supervisor client visit and.......BASS! Hot ****!! I thought I'd blown the driver!
Guess the amp got hot and shut down the sub to cool off.

John Kuthe...
it shut the sub down? **** I didn't know Subs could be switched on and off like that

With the way this new Alpine equipment acts like it wants to be your electronic "Nanny State", it would not surprise me a bit if they built in AUTOMATIC thermal protection on the amp circuits.

I figured that must've been it as the circumstance that precipitated my 12" sub going out was be making three runs to Edwards Carpet (10 mile trip IN TRAFFIC) and playing my old Punk Rock "testicles to the wall" LOUD and making my rear view vibrate pretty wobbly, when after my 2nd trip when I left Edwards' parking lot I had NO sub playing. And I thought I melted it's voice coil and would have to replace the sub driver.

But then days later when I drove Baby II again, my SUB WAS BACK! YAY!!

he invented it during the same brainstorm session he had after he fell off his toilet while trying to hang a clock that he drew the flux capacitor in
