well 3 of my subs quit playing today

3 out of 4 of my little e8s dyed today.. took them out, their VC's are still super bright copper... what could have happened?

sounds like mechanical failure. how much power were you sending to them?

they were powered by a sundown 1000d @ 1 ohm.. the amp was clamp tested on a burp @ 596 watts at 3.14 ohms

i've already had everything out of the box.. could it be the tinsels? i bench tested one of the three with a tone testing device and nothing, also with a DMM and nothing on the ohm load....

no, theres a good 1.5" between subs and seats

Could have popped the coil even though it doesn't look burnt or anything.

I've done that a couple times with my dd subs.

Its odd that 3 of the 4 died yet one continued. Did you check to see if the 4th looked the same or similar to the others?
