weldingsupply wire

bull shit mang.

2/0 welding cable is going to be the same thing as 2/0 "car audio" cable.

welding stuff is just not as pretty looking. fact is, usually "car audio" wire companies try to scimp out and cheat the buyers out of product by cutting corners and making thicker jackets. think scosche.

welding wire should work perfect. i have it. i have 1\0. and its thick and works perfect. just not a cool clear blue jacket. *shrug*

The Knu Kolossus, Kicker Hyperflex and Lighting Audio are basically the same size as the 2/0ga welding wire (the 2/0ga welding wire is just slightly larger). The 1/0ga welding wire is quite a bit smaller than those three. I have all those different sizes and brands.

To answer your question, the welding wire is just fine if your okay w/ not having fancy translucent colors.

Are they bigger including the outer protection or just the metal/ actual wire its self..

it's a lost cause. hyperflex means it's louder and cleaner

hyperflex is just nice because its tinned = less corrosion, it has more strands = more surface area = better skin effect = more current, and its a hell of a lot more flexible than competitiors.

i dont know about that huge price difference. but it is nicer wire that welding cable. but my welding cable = free. so i cant justify the price difference //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

welding cable will work just fine

im running a nine.1 (1200 rms) and a nine.4 iirc 65x4 off of 1/0 welding cable for almost 3 years now not a single problem.also iirc nine.1 has input for 1/0 guage and the welding supply stuff is really snug in there had to twist the wire real tight and trim it slightly for it to fit.

Isn't that the truth.

When I say bigger or smaller; I am refering to the actual copper only, not the jacket.

It's all the same wire most likely bought from the same place few places that actually sell the copper wire. The only two basic differences are; one is tinned, the other is not and one uses larger actual strands of copper than the other. That's why amp power wire has more strands than welding wire in most cases.
