weight issues

Hey there.

This is my first post, so I thought that I would make it interesting.

What are the weight ranges like of amps and subs?

Or more specific what would the weight be like of an average setup, containing a 2ch amp, a bass amp, 2 subs, a few mid-ranges and misc equipment?

Thanks for any input.

Average? Hard to say. I think most of the weight will be in the subwoofers and enclosure, which is highly dependant on which you use. There are some subs that weigh only a few pounds. A pair of them in a small sealed box would be much lighter than a pair of XXX's, that weigh in at nearly 60lbs each, and a large ported enclosure for example. Id guess a system with two 12's, a modest box, and the rest of the stuff could weigh anywhere from 20lbs to 250lbs. I generally figure the weight of an extra person in the car.

Kilograms would be prefered.

If it was, say, 2 8" subs with 2 70x2W amps- class D or T (not exceptional beasts but just lower-mid range quality) and a lightweight box (like carbon fibre or alike).

This is because I need to [try] keep the total weight under 120Kg-ish.

Thanks

My setup weighs 200+ lbs I'm thinkin...hard to say exactly. 3 sheets of MDF, 2 Tempests, and an amp all in one huge box...its enough to slow my van down a little.

Maybe something like this?
