I saw a lot of website questions in the last month here and was wondering if anyone had good suggestions on a place to make one for me. It would just be a simple small items for sale and if that same place would help get me more traffic as well.

well your going to need a cart software... a domain and hosting.... evilpuma.com is a friends hosting site that is awsome with the best deals....... but you need a cart and if your selling dvds you might need a license im not sure..

why do you say no? does that site ****? yep i needz a cart and hosting ideas the whole nine yards the deal is speaker for the legwork on building the site then i pay for hosting and if i need some software licensing. I have no idea what I am doing for website work but have lots of **** new and used to sell. The ones i filmed I have the records and info I need to stay legit. I have no site and I think that may increase my revenue.

send me a PM with a budget and i'll show ya what i can do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The host he pointed you to would be good for hosting files etc but does not even look like they have a control panel.

You probably want a free shopping cart such as http://www.oscommerce.com which is a good free, well supported open source shopping cart system.

Once you have that script setup you will have the basics and can start to configure your site, the only thing you would really need is someone to either code the site for you to look the way you want or find an oscommerce skin on the net you like and use that.

If you want some more info shoot me a pm.

did u know over 9000 **** sites are started a day? good luck
i got enough business selling right now but just want to expand a little I have a lot of cutomers who dont like the net but would look through my stock online but buy in person. It is a brick and mortar operation and rubber and van too.

Thanks for the info toasted

My budget is tight right now I lost my regular day job and am paying for school class just started had to buy books. what is the start up cost involved for a little site like I describe? Can it be done for less than 500 bucks?

umm wrong it has your choice cpanel or lightpd

why dont you do some research

evilpuma.com/cpanel/

hmm proven wrong again....

20 gByte Webspace

100 gByte Bandwidth

10 MySQL Databases *1

50 EMail Accounts

Clustered DNS *2

LightTPD Static File Delivery *3 (its a panel trust me)

for 25 a month... and i can take money saying it wont go down cant be hacked and ddosing it is nearly impossible.... considering the owner will foward a million botnets back to the host within mins.... (and its legal because there not actually botnets they are spiderbots which so far has no laws against it..

not to mention he in on 100mbit lines so your good..

and yes it can be done for less then 500.. that site right now 25 a month.... domain 10 bucks a year...

http://www.americart.com/pricing.asp

and 40 bucks a month for virtually unhackable cart.
