on a lighter note.... we just rented a van to go to Portland ove rthe holiday weekend... displayed in the vehicle was a sign that said, (seriously)

"Always use the proper child restraint seating because even children can become dangerous missles in the event of a sudden stop."

Got a ticket for it, along with an inspection ticket(3 days expired) and went to court today:
100+55 surcharge for the inspection, even though I got it inspected the next day

50+55 for the seatbelt.

I would have never gotten pulled over for the inspection if I was wearing that ****ed seatbelt.

Seatbelts are more like a form of communism the taking of ones rights....and ones freedom of choice...next people won't be able to smoke in their own vehicle without worring about a ticket....It is all forms to get money for nothing....

In louisiana a smoking ban went into effect at the start of the new year, banning smoking in restaurants (sp?), public buildings (or public at all), and schools. Also, if anyone under the age of 12 (IIRC, may be a bit older) is in your car, you can't smoke.

i am glad an inspection ticket here only costs $10 plus the inspection $40

but i think they hit you big time for no seatbelt, like over $100
