We are Lawn Technicians

FYI... the USA only stays above the population replacement rate of 2.1 children per woman due to "illegal" immigration. Without immigration our work force would be shrinking until we had a huge shortage of labor to fill the open jobs, especially lower-paying labor and factory jobs.
With many of these immigrants having children at much higher rates than "natural" US citizens, that are in turn legal US tax-payers when they enter the work force they will be helping us shoulder the enormous Social Security burden. I know some people complain now that illegal immigrants use our free services, and they do, but wouldn't you? It's our governments fault for offering the services, not theirs for using them... remember that. Anyhow, their children will be tax-payers when they enter the work force -- and without them there would be a large labor shortage and an even more massive tax deficit vs. expenditure in this country.

For that matter... quite a few illegals are applying for tax-payer ID numbers to pay taxes. You would be surprised at how many are doing this, and even paying tax professionals to help them pay their taxes since they WANT to contribute even not being a citizen. If it weren't so hard to come here legally and become a citizen I'm sure they would be glad to do it -- all of the immigrants that I know certainly would.

Some countries like South Korea will be feeling the effects of a fertility rate under 2.1 in the coming years when more workers are dying than entering the work force. It won't be pretty... so be careful what you wish for on immigration "reform" in this country.
this thread has nothing to do with immagration rates and or policies //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

It is about their right to a PC title in the workforce dammit!

Mexico is growing very nicely and is now home to the richest man in the world //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Plenty of nice places to live around there too -- my girlfriend is from Acapulco, I wouldn't mind living there.
I see what you mean, and I agree as well, the US does have it's share of problems which may grow to un-manageable levels in the coming years.
I am not sure Carlos Slim is someone I would think fondly of....but perhaps he gets a bad rap in the US Press. I don't know any Mexicans who know who he is so I can't get a fair assesment.

But as long as there is a strong legal system and low taxes, it should be a good place to retire....it doesn't matter if the national political system is corrupt. All politics is local anyways.

Indeed, nobody I know from Mexico knows who he is either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I imagine he probably just gets a bad rap from people that are angry he doesn't give away more money than he does.

I wouldn't mind retiring to Acapulco... I've seen quite a few pictures, looks nice!

Socialism is a growing problem (for people like me) in many latin American countries.

I am hoping by the time I am ready to retire, Africa can get their act together with stable legal systems and encourage investment, like retiree investment, which is very service based and helpful to employing the community.

I can't understand why they would rather be a king in shambles vs. a copatriot in riches.

A big Mac looks nice in a photo too, but you won't find me eating them.
*laughs*

Well, it is very popular resort destination so I'm pretty sure it is nice when you are there as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
