to elaborate...its called a "bench test" and voltage, current, and ohm load are kept constant while doing so.

i just want to push my subs to their full potential without over powering them

two dvc4 600wrms subs

one 1500wrms amp @ 1 ohm

so i figuer ill just use fractions to figure out just about where 1200rms is on the amps gain knob

bad idea. Bench testing it is the only wy to truely know what your amp is putting out. It could be above or below rated power. You'll never know until it's tested.

get a bigger amp those subs will take 700-800wrms on a clean signal. Running factory wrms is for ******* who like there subs....lol. but seriously get a bigger amp. as far as the test tones goggle is your friend

You have an ac volt meter/dmm?

Ignore quin's bigger amp comment. Going over rated power by 10-20% makes very little difference in the output of the subs, but it does increase the heat in the voice coils and your odds of damaging them.

I always give my subs at least double the RMS rating without problems...but again I run DD's.....
