this may be stupid but...

An alpine amp says 45rmsX4 and another amp, like pyle or something cheap, say 125rms. I know the alpine is better and the pyle sucks but what exactly is so different. Why does the smaller one sound so much better?

pyle overrates their amps so most likely the amp is distorting

Most good brands are using CEA-2006 to rate there amps. This keeps the playing field level when comparing amps. don't even bother using the pyle of shyt, u will reget it.

Well, the biggest difference regarding power is that the alpine will actually put out what it claims to put out, maybe more. The pyle may claim 125 watts, but won't usually put out much more power than the alpine. The build qualities are also different, the parts in the alpine are better, it's less likely to crap out from normal use, and in some cases may even take some abuse
