i got 3 10" hx2 rockford subs... i bought a rockford fosgate amp the x5 that puts out 550 rms,, i thought it would power them.... but it didnt power those at all .... the subs are rated at 500 rms each.......but i dont want the subs at 500 rms ,, i would want them around 300 each... so do i need a 900 watt amp???? i was looking at the hifonics.... but i have heard horror stories... and im not shure what to do... as long as the amp is around 300 dollars its cool.. so if some suggestions could be brought to my attention it would be greatly apreciated... thanks....

people have had mixed feelings on the hifonics, personally ive never dealt with them but they seem like a decent budget amp. whats the impedences of your subs? if you can get them down to 1 ohm which it seems like u can since u were looking at the hifonics, then a tsunami 1100 might also suit you well, hard to find though.

you Dont ! want to underpower thoes subs you shouldnt of got them if you didnt want all that power they need a 3000 watt amp atleast because if you try to turn up a amp that has 900 watts it will go into clipping and the distortion would blow the subs. best bet would be a bd1501 from rockford fosgate i dont know how you would wire that thoe. check this out http://www.caraudioexpert.com/productView3.asp?productID=3690
