hey guys/girls(if you exist on here anymore).. I just got done wet vacuuming my sisters Jeep cheeroke.. there was a POOL of water from the back seat to under the glove box.. the carpets were soaked.. we got most of it.. i told her to leave her windows cracked in the day when parked out front.. my question is.. where did it come from how to stop it?

Check behind the passenger front wheel well. They tend to corrode in this spot and create a hole in the floorboard right where it meets the firewall. The seamsealer tends to fail and then comes the rust and so on. Also check around the seat bolts. Those also tend to rust and corrode, sometimes making it possible for water to leak through. I myself would lift up the carpet on the passenger side in the front and see whats going on.

the passenger wheel well has the fuses in it but where would you see this.. inside or out?.. the seat belt bolts were rusted but not bad.. i took the whole seat out when vacuuming.. I will look there.. this is a 98 if it makes a difference.. her there was a black box under the glove that had lots of condensation on it but idk if it was enough to cause that.. idk how long it was there she treats it like shit

From the outside: If your looking at the front passenger wheel, look in the spot where water would naturally kick up from the tire. There is a plastic wheel liner.. Right at the bottom of the plastic there is a piece of the floorboard that is somewhat subjected to this water kick up. That is the spot where you could see corrosion.. The black box under the glove box is the blower motor and condenser housing. Your seeing condensation on it because cool air runs through when running the A/C. So yea, same concept as a cold glass of water on a hot day. I really feel there is no way for it to "sweat" that much and soak her carpet that much. Has it been raining by you alot? Alot of driving on wet roads?

it wouldn't be enough to cause the water then? I will look at the wheel well when i get a chance.. you just put some bedliner over it or what?
