I recently hooked up my comp set, and there was a horrible screaching noise from the speakers at low volume. I checked bad ground, bad rca's and it was none of that. Then I wrapped a piece of wire around the rcas behind the headunit and it stopped the problem. Why? You shouldnt have to do that I am assumming...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif. It seems like the problem is obvious...but I can't just figure it out. If you move the ground on the amp, you can hear the movement u are making with the wire..if you move it back and forth. Just wondering why wrapping a piece of wire around it fixes it. And I am not even sure if it is good or not, because I just blew my comps..not sure if it was from that or from just to much power.

I'm going to guess that you have a Pioneer HU? They are notorious for blowing the signal ground isolation fuse and allowing the HU to ground through the barrel of the RCA. Grounding the RCAs keeps the ground from running through the RCA to the amp's ground and adding noise ot the signal along the way.

I love pioneer HU's, but I just had a recent problem with mine.

I had the same squeling and some popping.Let's just say, this killed one of my horns //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I had to order a new diaphram, $94 later the horn should be working again (still have to put the new diaphram in).

That kind of killed my liking for pioneer, as soon as I can I'm going to switch to kenwood (more than likely).

My advice would be to pay a good car audio store to do your install since it seems like you have a problem with everything you install.
Meh, I eventually figure it out. But it looks like you don't know the solution to this problem either.
