Because excursion doesn't mean a higher decibel output. I've seen subs that don't move much but are loud.
Also, what meter was this on the Term Lab? Usually that is what people refer to, anything else is usually moot. Doing 135 - 140 in a sedan with those subs will take quite a bit of work, unless you have multiple's of them and some power, especially if you are doing it on music.

No it was not a term lab i cant remember what it was. My friend had a old jetta with 2 V10DV6W in a ported box in the trunk and a 900RMS visonik class d amp and it hit around 135 with I think a 45hz tone and those subs had 30mm of xmax and rated at 300 rms a peice.

i think with a re se 15 could hit in that range. but idk about a visonik.

yes with 1200 rms going to it at 3ohm and the box was sitting on the back seat.

It was an old u-Dimension amp from 2002 I think. I cant remember the model.
