I have been out of car audio for many years (14 to be exact) but my latest company vehicle sound system was so bad I find myself back in (ford transit connect). I just purchased a focal 2.160 and k2 160 speakers but the sq does not seem to compair to my old hafler ma4 and old school jbl's 6.5's with separate to6 tweets. Maybey it's the acoustics in the truck but i sure would like trying these speakers on a ma4.

hafler is almost extinct my friend,i say this due to being around hands 0n car audio since 88,and still confide with old school amplifiers, and not many out there...if any at all,and working..you may get lucky and find one on ebay, yet, present your wallet opened im sure, not sure why,as within that time frame some of the best sq,and powerful amps were made were the alpine duo-b/like the 3550,3555,ect in which to me was a cleaner made amplifier than the hafler/rf..hifonics vii/viii,europia,gemini,jupiter,ect for small footprint 4ch with power along with clarity, jbl gtq 200..i hope that you can locate one..i havent seen one in several yrs, and ive been on ebay for quite somtime.that hafler is gonna be hard to find..clean,and working/decent shape..never know though

vehicles these days are made cheaper and cheaper every year with cheap crinkle/flexable tin..reason why road noise is so abundant .im sure the vehicle has quite a bit to do with the outcome of the sound of your speakers also

My next investment will be going into dynamat to see if that will clean things up but as of now I built mdf enclosures 1.06 cubic feet per side 30 L but the enclosures are directly bolted to the steel partition in the truck ( it rattles big time when you crank it) I expected this when I built it but when you average 65 working hours per week and I only had two days too put it all together that's what happens. I think after I dynamat both sides of the partition it will be much cleaner. Do you really think the alpine is comparable I have spent big bucks in the past on top of the line Japanese amps and was always greatly disappointed with the exception of my very first amp ever wich was a nakamichi, this amp was by far the cleanest high end amp I had but lacked a bit on the low end (the hafler was a little more rounded)

i do,and still own some of the duo-b line of alpine amplifiers..they were some of the best sq amplifiers ever made, and tag along some true power..i mean even back then,,i used an alpine 3525 duo-b to push 4 stillwater kicker 10s,without any issues..autotek mean machines were cream of the crop /best of both worlds, just as those hifonicsView attachment 26532943 i still have a few amps laying around need get some fresh picks of what i now have put up on here..concord digital ref series amps were amazing power, and sq..do to being associated with with harmon kardon, and jbl

looking for these? i have two in good shape but i think they need some work. idk if its the internal fuses but not all ch are working on them. i would sell you both cheap. one even has the original box. possibly a cheap fix for couple great sq amps.

yes they are in good physical condition just need some work internally. if this guy gets back on maybe he would be interested. i would let them go cheap. of the working channels they sounded great. probably the best hafler amps made. maybe just the mini fuses inside but i think one has a channel that puts out a distorted sound and the other three channels work. the other one had some bad fuses inside and cant remember what the problem was but both will need some work. if he is close maybe he can pick up. i would let them go for $100 plus ship or picked up for both.
