Want to tune a sub to 33hz

is it easier to damage a sub if its in a ported box by playing low tones? as opposed to a sealed box

i'm asking cause my friend has a 12" sub with a 1200 watt amp i think in a 1.3 cubic feet ported box. it sounds rlly weird so we want to know why

knowing you, the amp isn't a true 1200 watts, the sub is probably pure garbage, and the box is tuned too high, and the gains are cranked all the way up.

how will pics tell you anything? that won't tell you what model sub and amp they are. it won't tell you how it's ran. so chromite, what kind of sub is it (model number will be best), is it a prefab box? 1200watts? is this the rms rating? if so how many ohms? how did you wire it?(ohms)

how the **** will i not be able to tell amp and sub model by pictures? i don't know about you but i been in this **** for 20 years. I can look at most subs or amps and identify them. GTFO

all he says is its an FI SSD 12" in a prefab 1.3 cuft box and the amp is 1200 rms @ 2 ohms

ok , then if this is true , the box is too small for that sub. It's probablly bottoming out , and the amp needs to be tuned correctly because its putting out more than that sub is rated for (not a bad thing , just be careful with it). tune it and build a bigger box,.

if its 1.3 and its ported, its way too small. if its 1.3 and its sealed, its fine, fi recommends up to 1.2

tell him to build the box that says 12" ssd 2.5 cubic feet @ 32hz, its the 2nd design

Not normal , its bottoming out and if he has been playing it like that for a while , it probably ruined.
