Want to have $5 dollar a gallon gas?

Not quite lol, you obviously have very little understanding of politics and governmental systems. its obvious to anyone with half a brain that youre trying to turn this into a "liberals are evil blah blah blah" thread.
Actually you do not know your history very well. I am a registered Democrate have been for over 20 years. Just not a loon, I do not think government can run a country, I believe that is what WE are for and for doing so we keep our freedom. Government is our structure NOT our Nanny.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under

the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist

program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without

knowing how it happened." - Norman Thomas 1948 - from an interview during the presidential campaign

liberals aren't evil. they're just intellectually dishonest. they have to be to make their argument for government control and redistribuition. deciding on a form of government comes down to simple human nature in my opinion. capitalism and the free market harness the most basic of all instincts......selfishness. that drive for self spawns ideas and innovation. other forms of government go against human nature, and use the premise that a society in which things are forced upon us, either through taxes, threats, or force will work better. i disagree. i disagree on almost every level of the liberal/marxist idea. we aren't evolved enough yet for a political system like that to work. the day we evolve beyond selfishness (which is impossible, since the entire earth/nature relies on selfish beings looking out for themselves) is the day i will embrace liberalism, marxism, socialism, communism, etc.

LOL I am waiting to see how he is going to say eugenics is not a form of population control...he will throw out definitions (which when applied is population control to get a desired effect) but was also used for direct population/immigration control of some very RACIST governments LOL...every country whom followed any type of eugenics at the time were AT LEAST Statist countries. It is pretty funny because clearly many of the inferior governments used it and believed in it. Where are they at now?

"The president called randomly on three audience members. All turned out to be members of groups with close ties to his administration: the Service Employees International Union, Health Care for America Now, and Organizing for America, which is a part of the Democratic National Committee. White House officials said that was a coincidence."

Hmmm intresting, Helen Thomas and CBS's Chip Reid even bashed Gibbs about it.

Wonder if it isn't already well known what other aspects work like this...The EPA maybe?

We had nearly $5 gas last summer with Republicans in office. Also, yes, we should have gas be that high, would get us in line with the other countries around the world and may spark some actual innovation and research into alternatives.
Had nothing to do with Republicans in office. Remember the pipe line that got damaged? Now every time there is a storm brewing in the ocean we will get the bologna pony.. We need to stop aiding the middle east and let them suffer some. They are oover there jumping around having gas parties gettting it for like .90 cents and we were paying 4.50. Screw them.

We should drill our own....every billion dollars of oil we drill is a billion we keep...with this crap and trade bill it will close refineries here and push up the demand for forgeign oil but of fully processed gas.

"...current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class - involving high meat intake use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning, and suburban housing - are not sustainable. A shift is necessary. which will require a vast strengthening of the multilateral system, including the United Nations..." [1] Maurice Strong , opening speech at the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development

Note: This global contract binds all nations and spreading regions to the the collective vision of "sustainable development." They must commit to pursue the three E's of "sustainability": Environment, Economy and Equity referring to the UN blueprint for environmental regulations, economic regulations, and social equity"

Interesting

Actually I am starting to think the world just wants us to come down off our "high standard" of living so it can bring all countries up to par with us and the rest of the world more quickly and inexpensively. Just like with health care they come up with moral standards to "dumb" down our health care scores. Moral standards to our way of living is also "bad" yet the world stands back and lets millions of people die of malaria every year because DDT may cause cancer...Actually I think it is a form of population control as they get ready to receive large sums of aid world wide as soon as they can get those countries organized.

The Honduras affair is pretty strange. Their president put himself on the ballot for another term against his countries constitution. He never tried to amend it and he was thrown out by law. Zelaya was ordered not to run again under the his countries supreme court. Now Obama sides with Hugo Chavez on this thinking Zelaya should be their leader? Talk about shitting over a countries sovereignty. Also makes me wonder how Obama feels about our countries Constitution. A president is not a supreme leader who also plays judge jury and or executioner, and they **** well are not a king or a dictator.

Do a search on Bing or google on these terms "UN agenda 21 21st century" You will see what they want to call "sustainable world developmen"t also carries financial SHARED burdens as well as "moral" standards to make every country pretty much the SAME. Funny thing how I stumbled onto this is EVEN if congress does not pass these changes to our energy programs he will sign a UN treaty to FORCE these changes to go. Things you will notice are the talks of large ammounts of money from developed countries to Africa and other under developed countries to make a equal playing field world wide. New World Order anyone?

At first I thought this was funny.....then I realized the awful truth of it. Be

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most

prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest

middleclass in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened? Can you spell 'politicians? '

And I still have to 'press 1' for English!?

The globe has been in a cooling trend for the past 11 years.
If you say that to a enviro-statist "scientist" they will tell you that you are "cherry picking data" then when they show you a 2-3 year chart they cherry pick info and you call them out on it then they say you are "uneducated". Doesn't take a rocket scientist to read their charts and when they are talking percentages of 1 degree and they are 30-60% off on models they fall back on "trends". Slide there info over other years and it would pass as global cooling on a greater scale. Thing that bugs me most though is when they started tracking this, for the cause at which the people running this setting meters and taking readings in slightly bad places would have a "upward trending effect". Heard stories of scientists knowingly taking readings too close to urban areas to get the desired effect....

the weather guy got the goddamn forecast wrong today. stupid bastard can't predict the weather 2 days out........but i completely trust the idiots who claim they can predict it 20 years out. fooling people has never been easier than in 2009.

Dr. James Hansen was the number 2 guy in the global cooling "new man made Ice Age" of the 70's and is now the advisor to Al Gore's global warming movement. He works for NASA Goddard Institute for Space....and has for both of his claims. If the Earth doesn't get hot again (it has been getting cooler since 1998 and he did have to rehash his warmest decade comment (He said the 90's were the warmest of the 1900's when in fact it was the 1930's. He made his correction in 2007 and Enviro-Statists deny it or try to burry the fact LOL.

Nice little web site is http://www.climatedepot.com

Just in case some of you "green" guys won't admit this is a power grab explain this. If you live in America you are RICH. The Kyoto Protocol Marxists do not care what China or India does but WE have to pay. Global Warming is FAKE infact if the earth doesn't warm back up the "enviro-statists" will have to scrape their fight. This is why it was sped up to try to get passed. If you live in America and you work at Walmart you are considered rich LOL. World treaty means this money is not going to stay in our country eventually. This smashes all our sovereignty. This is what happens when the world is run by 60's radical Marxists. They eventually want you to not own a car and live in tiny cubical apartments by transportation stations so the "poor" countries living in the dark ages can catch up pass us (like China and India will.) Then when China and India become rich they will put them on the same program.......until the whole world lives the SAME way. I don't know about you but I never voted for Kyoto and I am pretty **** sure this most definitely falls under the taxation without representation and shows the will of a definite NEW World Order....Guaranty this has more to do with our way of living over any type of global warming. We live too good because we have heating and air conditioning and eat meat.

* World's richest emit about half of Earth's carbon

* Tracking the wealthy could break climate impasse

* New method would follow individual greenhouse emissions

By Deborah Zabarenko, Environment Correspondent

WASHINGTON, July 6 (Reuters) - To fairly divide the climate change fight between rich and poor, a new study suggests basing targets for emission cuts on the number of wealthy people, who are also the biggest greenhouse gas emitters, in a country.

Since about half the planet's climate-warming emissions come from less than a billion of its people, it makes sense to follow these rich folks when setting national targets to cut carbon dioxide emissions, the authors wrote on Monday in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

As it stands now, under the carbon-capping Kyoto Protocol, rich countries shoulder most of the burden for cutting the emissions that spur global warming, while developing countries -- including fast-growing economies China and India -- are not required to curb greenhouse pollution.

Rich countries, notably the United States, have said this gives developing countries an unfair economic advantage; China, India and other developing countries argue that developed countries have historically spewed more climate-warming gases, and developing countries need time to catch up.

The study suggests setting a uniform international cap on how much carbon dioxide each person could emit in order to limit global emissions; since rich people emit more, they are the ones likely to reach or exceed this cap, whether they live in a rich country or a poor one.

For example, if world leaders agree to keep carbon emissions in 2030 at the same level they are now, no one person's emissions could exceed 11 tons of carbon each year. That means there would be about a billion "high emitters" in 2030 out of a projected world population of 8.1 billion.

EACH PERSON'S EMISSIONS

By counting the emissions of all the individuals likely to exceed this level, world leaders could provide target emissions cuts for each country. Currently, the world average for individual annual carbon emissions is about 5 tons; each European produces 10 tons and each American produces 20 tons.

With international climate talks set to start this week in Italy among the countries that pollute the most, the authors hope policymakers will look at the strong link between how rich people are and how much carbon dioxide they emit.

"You're distributing the task of doing something about emissions reduction based on the proportion of the population in the country that's actually doing the most damage," said Shoibal Chakravarty of the Princeton Environment Institute, one of the study's authors.

Rich people's lives tend to give off more greenhouse gases because they drive more fossil-fueled vehicles, travel frequently by air and live in big houses that take more fuel to heat and cool.

By focusing on rich people everywhere, rather than rich countries and poor ones, the system of setting carbon-cutting targets based on the number of wealthy individuals in various countries would ease developing countries into any new climate change framework, Chakravarty said by telephone.

"As countries develop -- India, China, Brazil and others -- over time, they'll have more and more of these (wealthy) individuals and they'll have a higher share of carbon reductions to do in the future," he said.

These obligations, based on the increasing number of rich people in various countries, would kick in as each developing country hit a certain overall level of carbon emissions. This level would be set fairly high, so that economic development would not be hampered in the poorest countries, no matter how many rich people live there.

Is this a limousine-and-yacht tax on the rich? Not necessarily, Chakravarty said, but he did not rule it out: "We are not by any means proposing that. If some country finds a way of doing that, it's great."

This week's climate talks in Italy are a prelude to an international forum in December in Copenhagen aimed at crafting an agreement to follow the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012. At the same time, the U.S. Congress is working on legislation to curb U.S. carbon emissions. (Editing by Cynthia Osterman
