What brand of head unit are you using?

Alpine W505.

But i dont want to limit myself to only Alpine, if you know what i mean.

The W505 has built in controls for Alpine's H701 processor, considered by lots of people to have been one of the best ever made.

Time alignment, more EQ's than a studio, and it was designed as the perfect match for your HU.

They were discontinued late last year, but used ones can be found on ebay most every day.

He'll need to get a cable that jvc makes iirc so he can do optical out from the w505 to the h701. not the best(hate that word) either, but it works.

you'll need to use both. optical for the signal, ai-net to control the h701 from the w505
