Im not going for SPL, or SQ, but a good mix of both.

This is going in a sports car and I really want to keep the weight down. I will probably build a carbon fiber enclosure. Right now I am trying to figure out which way to go on the subs.

I can do multiple smaller subs, like between 4 and 8 8's or 10's possibly, or maybe even squeeze a couple of 15' or 18's in there.

I want them to play LOW, and be relatively light. A smaller enclosure requirement would also be a bonus.

are you a millionaire by any chance? critical mass ul's weight but 20 lbs i think, they would be good for weight. or you could get one 18 inch btl and chop it in half then kill two birds with one stone. and btw, i went to burger king college i know what im talking about. glad to be of your assistance

From your last thread,

Terra-If your going to spend all the cash on the CF box, look for a neo-motored sub like the Critical Mass UL12, TC-3k Neo, any others

Exactly, what kind of weight are you shooting for? I'm asking, because I've spent the last 6 months trying to put together a lightweight sub for one of my cars. I auditioned a number of driver/enclosures and eventually found a 33lb combo that worked well for my needs. As you're asking about 4-8 8"s or 10"s, or a multiple of 18" drivers, your sub will weigh a bunch no matter how you slice it, as will the amp needed to power the combo, along with the wiring. FWIW, a single 8" driver like an ID8V3 with a small enclosure tips the scales at almost 20lbs. If you opt for a very sensitive driver, you won't need a big/heavy amp, and coupled with a light enclosure from FC, it isn't impossible to have an effective, lightweight sub. Though, it doesn't sound like you'll be headed in that direction. Good luck.

What kind of sport car do you have that could fit 18's?
I just had a quick look at OP's other threads, and the car in question seems to be a 1990 (C4) Corvette. A V6 Camry can pop one off the line and a stock Fit could teach it a thing or two about handling. FWIW, the OP was also looking at 3 13W7s. Those must be ~70lbs a piece.

you didn't ask a question here.
