Want a change in sound

Hey folks, been a while. Y’all were a big help when you pointed me in the direction of the CAB 12 and CAB 1600.1. It hits HARD and down low the SPLs are intense.

I now drive a 2018 Cadillac that has a pretty decent system in it. I want to “upgrade” to a more SQL type of set up. Was thinking 2 10s in a nice custom set up, sealed etc. Because of the insulation and sound material they use, I still need something that can handle power and get loud.

The guy at the audio shop recommended I go with Focal K2 10s, because they not only sound good, but they can also handle my CAB amp and get pretty loud.

Your opinions are valued. You nailed my first set up, I think y’all can get me in the right direction again. Thanks!

Focal is expensive. What is your budget?
Honestly, I am willing to save for (almost) whatever it takes to get loud and SQL. After I switched vehicles, I had a bunch of parts to sell and will have about $1500-2,000 to play with.

Not too many people on here run Focal equipment so the feedback you will most likely get is opinion and speculation based. What kind of Cadillac is it? How much space are you willing to sacrifice?
CTS-V

We have a minivan and my wife has a crossover, so I Can sacrifice a decent amount. Just need to be able to put some groceries in there, maybe the kid’s backpacks etc.

Thanks for all the replies. Trying to compare.

Some of those subs require a lot less power and my amp is pretty beefy and will save a lot of money if I use the same amp and go with a more powerful sub instead of trying to purchase it all at the same time. I’ll look in to one of those new Phoenix Gold amps or something nice down the road when I want “cleaner” power.

that flatlyne does look good

Might I suggest the B2 REF subs.. Very musical and loud; can hit all the lows lows and still hit the highs no prob. Only requires 600W to get down. Only comes in D1 coils though so you would need to buy 2 subs to drop to 1 ohm load. Priced very well for being shipped from denmark too. I got mine from mylows10, he hooked me up.
