Wanna make a dist block, steel block slug? predrilled?

I need to make a distro block for my power side. Ive got 0gauge going to the back, so I need 0gauge in, then 2 0 gauge outs and a few other small outs for high mid amps and accesories.

I basically just wanna buy a chunk of conductive metal (which ever is energy efficient/ cost eficient) and drill a few thru holes, and drill and tap for set screws

Any place that would sell something like that? IN a specific size you want I tried a few local metal places

you could also buy a tap and die set after you drill out the holes yourself with a drill bit.....seems pretty simple to me....

I buy aluminum off ebay. Then just drill and tap.

I do have a tap n die set, just need the metal, dont know which kind to use or where to get it though

id go with pure copper myself. or some pretty thick alum. i dont know but maybe a scrap yard? do you have a summit electrical near by? or a ced? or try ebay.

and you can buy a bit and tap at homedepot for pretty cheap

Ive got the tap set, I just need the metal. Is aluminum no good? 3/8" thick 1' wide X 6" long is about $15 bucks on ebay

My uncle hooked me up at a scrap yard he used to run. I'd try there over buying over the internet.

I really wanted a thick block though so I could drill thru it, and have a set screw hold the wire in so I wouldnt need to worry about ring terminals or anything.

Ill have to see what I can find tomorrow

Id love to hear about any substantial difference between copper aluminum steel though, Like I said this is only a dist block, but I will be pulling 2500-3000 through it

copper/aluminum will be way easier to drill and tap
