Wallpaper... any tips on how to take it off.

i'm a painter... we use this stuff called dif... great stuff, they'll have it at your local paint store, wear gloves though, try not to get it on your skin... it works real well the FIRST time... takes paper glue and everything with it.

I've only removed wallpaper one time, and it was just a little strip back in this piece of crap back room, but I pee'd all over it, and then got a scraper and it scraped off with a little force. My pee is pretty acidic, I urinated on a litmus paper strip before and recorded a 4.

use a steamer if that dosent work glue remover and a scraper... take your time

i bought some of that.. works great.. dosent really take the wallpaper and glue off.. i found it's easier to peal the wallpapper of dry as it is... then let the DIF shit soak into the glue and it scrapes right off...

stayed up till 3 last night.. got half the room done so far... hopefully i'll finish it up tonight....

they also make a tool to run accross the wall paper that pokes little holes in it to let the dif get back behind the paper and release the glue.

that should make it fall right off.

yea i got one of those.. still esier to just throw that in tha garbage and peal the paper off...

I had to peel old paper off my walls and my uncle that does this for a living told me to get one of those things that score the paper the he had me get one of those pump spray bottels like you use for weeds and put diff in there and it worked awsome I sprayed all the walls and once I was done spraying all the walls I went to where I sprayed first grabbed one of those like 4 inch blade things and started scraping also when you use that thing to score the paper make sure you dont press to hard it will put dents in your wall then. I also tried a steamer before I tried this and this way was 1000 times easier also if you dont want to buy the sprayer you could use like a paint roller and put it on that way

im going to be re spakeling the wall's and sanding them before paint allso.. so it looks good..

go and find some wallpaper remover thats called fast,use it in a weed sprayer and make sure you put some liquid fabric softner in with it,keeps it wet and works great.
