W7 Enclosure

Wanting to know the best enlosure build for a 12W7. I listen to mostly rap, want something that sounds good, gets loud, and nice on the lows. Maybe tuned to @ 38.

Its going in the back of my Volvo S40 and would like suggestions on what would sound best.

Nothing tuned to 38Hz is going to be nice on the "lows".

I'd go sealed, personally, but you probably wouldn't like that...

x2... Tune to 32hz or below.

With something as mean as a W7, you could go sealed and still get respectably loud, and keep the flat response and sq of a sealed box.

Not really........Thanks for trying something different tho. I am just not much of a sealed fan. I just feel like I lose too much output by going sealed

Low tuned ported. Good to mix the SPL's with the SQ's.

JL says it should be 1.75 cu ft tuned t 32....Does that sound right?

I personally would look at something more around 3 cf tuned somewhere below 30Hz. Those things really want a big box.
