W7 dilemma

I had a Sony XM 2ch for awhile and had no problems with it. Clean amp if I do say so my self. Cotjones may be a tool and IIRC he used to run multiple sized W7's in the same set up, you name dropping isn't impresive. Honestly I could care less who you've worked with or how long you've been don't something. I'm more of a "needs logical information to back it up" kind of guy.Sorry, you're right, experience, and good teachers mean nothing, Harvard is regarded as a good school, because Good Will Hunting was a good movie. Running W7's in a similar set up doesn't help your cause. Why would you run 4 tens sealed, in a tiny stupid looking box with a 12? on top. Sounds like the salesman made a nice spiff there. Let me guess, 10's for transient response, and the 12 for the low end........DUMB. And you're isolated experience does nothing to disprove my repeated experience with Sony *******.
Point out cotjones old set up was an example of him being a tool.

You can't logically say everything brand X makes is shit . While it's true the brand may make a lot of bad items, it doesn't mean everything is bad.

What I don't undestand is why you feel the need to defend yourself instead of just discussing the matter at hand. No need to be an *******.

I honestly think YOU don't know what you are talking about. I don't know how you can besmirch my stated qualifications? I'm not always right, but you're never right. You use your childish emoticons incessantly, and write plain WRONG shit.
ORLY?
your experience: obviously lacking, case in point your deadening opinion
Deadening is neccessary for some but is a money making gimmick for all, thats what made it most clear you were a shop installer. Quite simply, more, obviously, always helps but in a lot of cases is not necessary.
background: Live in NC, and think it's okay to make racial jokes at others expenses....so yes you're an uninformed neck
Hmmm I still fail to see a racial slur in my statements. In fact I could argue the opposite. If I thought it was ok to make racial jokes I would've used the original saying instead of alluding to it with a euphemism.

education:formal education, whatever you're in school-good for you. Car audio IQ LOW, like 15 cycles low
HA HA u sure? I've experimented and studied acoustics and electronics on levels few ever experience.
Personal finances:You're pushing a mITSuBiShi eclipse, and consider it a higher end ride. Aint paid
Granted it's by no means a luxury moneybag's car, but neither is it an economy car. It is nice. And about a $30,000 car brand new.

Preference:It's plastered all over everything you skrawl on this board.....You like what you have, and will defend it no matter how wrong you are. There is no Jesus anyways
orly? I suppose you also know every amp and sub I've ever used. haha and what is sitting in my closet right now.

If you want to get technical, yes experience and good teaching mean nothing, but what does mean something is your ability to learn. If a retard who bangs his head on a wall is told by Sir Issac Newton to not bang his head on the wall, but he continues to do it time after time, experience and a good teacher indeed meant nothing.

While experience is a powerful force, the one thing that can render it useless, is a fvcked up attitude and refusal to learn.

...and yet again you refer to the first setup I ever attempted? I assume you've had personal experience with the PARTICULAR sony amp I have?

COCKJONESER, I'm over you. One thing you should realize, which is hard when you're a defiant, narcissist, is deadener is CRAZY necessary. Get your head out of your ***, and ask someone, you've got to respect someones opinion. I know it will be hard to be wrong, but at 5% of your dream system price a little deadener will go a long way. DUDE I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU, as much as I think you're a worthless person, you are missing the boat on this one

...Naturally

Well this thread has gone to hell. I was actually expecting to see what opinions people had on a 12 w7 vs the 13"s. OOPS. lol. Well my opinion is that the 13 is a pretty decent step up from the 12"s. But if you can only get 1 13 or 2 12"s I would go 12"s all day. More cone area and better potential. I had 2 12"s in my truck prior to going to the 4 w6v2 12"s. I likes the overall sound and output over the W7 but miss the pride of woning those beastly things.

Yes back to the OP the real question is can you afford the 2 12's and more amp to power them. If you can, the 2 12's are probably going to be the best setup in most cases.

If I had the room to fit 2 w7's in my new beater truck I would def do it. I had to lift my seat over 2" just to fit the 2 sealed w6v2"s running off a freakin BPX2200.1. If airspace and power are there then get the 2 subs. going up one size in the subs and cutting the number of drivers in half will drop output by quite alot.

you only hit 141.5 legal with 4 12s in a blowthrough?
