I have no experience to base this on at all but i'd say 26 gauge copper.

depends if its flatwound, the woofers i have use flatwound 8 gauge copper

I am going to try my hand at winding. I have to fab up a simple machine to do it though . I have a few coils I am taking id and od , coil highth, lenth of wire used, how many turns are needed and types of glue used to make them. I need to find a material for the former though .Just something to mess around with!
