Then whomever owned those is a complete moron.. I used mine for spl all day long.. Large enclosures and triple rated power.. Either you cant dial in an amp or your just a complete moron.. Our shop has never had a w7 come back due to a fried coil...

edit.. The only time a w7 HAS come back is due to some dumbass cranking the gains on a garbage amp, clipping the shit out of everything..

Hey Godhates, sorry that I'm completely egging this tool on, but he's so infectious.

W7 talk. We once had to return a gang of W7's because the spider was "sagging", no longer level. Rep said we were supposed to be turning the boxes every so often to avoid this???? Quality product there.

i think it just customers like to retune stuff comes back blown up with amp max gain/ bass boost talking about they made it louder cause we tuned it bad

WTF are you smoking. I dont know about you guys but all my boxs have a peak and none of them sound good at 300hz.

I try to peak ~28-40hz but I dont care about ANYTHING over 75-80hz.

i did a build in a magnum and he blew up 2 15 inch ab hds and a saz3000 i have yet to blow anything i had hds with no spiders left still wagin but this guy slinkies one the 2 weeks later says he was beatin all day and it was making funny noise 2 days later he said he smelt something burning brought the car over the 1 subs locked up the box is broke and the power suppley on the amps is crispy

Great subs, you have to keep in-mind they are nearly 10 years old now. I have heard rumors the w7 is getting a makeover 2011

I had a Sony XM 2ch for awhile and had no problems with it. Clean amp if I do say so my self. Cotjones may be a tool and IIRC he used to run multiple sized W7's in the same set up, but you name dropping isn't impresive. Honestly I could care less who you've worked with or how long you've been doing something. I'm more of a "needs logical information to back it up" kind of guy.

Yea i dunno dude.. Weve had Demo days where we ran 2 12 w7s all day long in a car off a opti6000d holding at 14 volts for demos.. Which after rise were right around 5850 rms.. No thats near 3kw running daily for 4-6 hrs 1-2 hrs of that is heavy listening.. I really dont see how ppl blow a w7, and that is why we ran those amps just to show its not power , its all in the settings.. Fucking kids are so stupid thats the problem

Sorry, you're right, experience, and good teachers mean nothing, Harvard is regarded as a good school, because Good Will Hunting was a good movie. Running W7's in a similar set up doesn't help your cause. Why would you run 4 tens sealed, in a tiny stupid looking box with a 12? on top. Sounds like the salesman made a nice spiff there. Let me guess, 10's for transient response, and the 12 for the low end........DUMB. And you're isolated experience does nothing to disprove my repeated experience with Sony *******.
