i am purchasing two 12 w6v2's next week and can't decide what amp to get. i want something that has enough power, but won't strain electrical system to much. they are going into a crx and will be sealed. also would a single ported v2 be a better choice?

I like those W6v2s... I would try a single 12" Ported. Its worth it. Im sure it will get loud. U could even try porting both =).

Those wire down to a final 1 ohm load? I would look at the Elemental Designs nine.1. It will do 1200 watts at 1 ohm with 13.5 volts. If you watched your gains you would be fine. I got mine for $350 delivered.

would a jbl 600/1 be a good choice for a single w6v2 sealed. i like the JL 500/1, but a little to expensive.

what's the voice coil configuration on those? a crossfire vr1000D wouldn't be a bad choice. they make rated power at 12.5 volts and don't strain your electrical as much as other amps.

uhh or a single 1000/1. a jbl 1200.1 would be tight too. JLs can handle over the RMS really well 100 watts +. how much can you spend?

I just bought a JBL GTO 600.1 for 1 JL w6v2. I hope that works out.

I'm running 1 12" 12w6v2 in a built to spec slot ported box getting 500watts rms and that thing gets low, deep, and the sound quality is still great. I love it, it gets loud as hell sound like i have 2 of them

Does a ported w6 sound good with rock music? Or should i go with a sealed w6 for rock music?
