W6 Vs Si D2

I've heard a w6, so i was curious how they would compare to a Mag D2, in terms of SPL and SQ. Both 12" in a reccomended enclosure with proper power.

I had a 12-spoke mag D2 and i'd give the SPL side to the mag. Maybe the SQ to teh w6 but the mag's SQ was amazing too, i'm a retard for getting rid of it

V2? If so, I can't comment on it. I chose my Mag over the W7, but the W6v2 supposedly sounds much better than the W7. Now, I have owned many a first gen W6 and the AEs, but none of them could compete with the Mag in either category.

I had a buddy with a pair of the 13W6v2s, but both were in a huge vented enclosure with 1KW per driver, not exactly SQ oriented. It got loud, and sounded pretty good, but even he preferred my Mag over them.

On another note, I've never really been dissatisfied with any JL product. They are all capable performers.

Thanks, that helps alot, i can get the W6v2's for about 20 bucks cheaper. So i just wanted to make sure. Anyone else?

You could probably find a pair of used mag 12's for ~$400.

Yeah Probably. But the catch is i don't buy used. I Trust NOONE out there, plus i love the feeling of opening the box of something brand new.

It really sucks they are D2's only, being d4 would open up so many more oppurtunities for amps.

i think the new mag take a w6v2 in all categories. 1st time i heard the new mag it was with 300rms it got pretty loud and sounded extremly good. the w6v2 was sealed had a decent amount of output great sq, but the mag is either right on par with it or a little better sq. In spl the mag beats it hands down

Claw basket style are the 2003 models if i believe. Almost identical to my Spoke magnum. Hoss would be a good source to get those mag's from, from what i understand he's got ties to the head honcho over at SI ;P

i'd also take a mag over a w6v2 any day. i had both an old claw basket mag and a w6v2 and the mag had a huge output advantage by far. and i'd say it was on par in the sq dept.
