I had to turn off the box and hold down some buttons on it to get into the setup wizard- from there I selected what resolutions I want to use- chose 720p and 1080i, and saved settings.

They didn't give me a manual, either.

Had to go to Scientific Atlanta's website and find the .pdf's for the manuals/user guides and figure it out on my own.

you know you can get the 360 hd-dvd add on for $199 or if you want to wait rumors of a blu ray and hd-dvd player coming out at ces from lg. dunno how good it will look or price but it should be intresting.
