So I was out of town on business for a day and there just happened to be a stereo shop near the hotel. I check it out, and lo and behold they're a morel dealer!

I listened to the Hybrid 6" component set and was EXTREMELY impressed. Easily tore the shit out of anything else they had in the store (MB Quart, Rockford, Alpine, etc...). BTW Nismo, you were GD on to something when you mentioned Morel. The midbass seemed to be WAY better than any component set I've ever heard. They actually sounded pretty **** good without a subwoofer running.

Got 'em for less than $550 cdn too (about $350 usd). Can't wait till I can start on the install. I am going to find space and make time for a nice set of doorpods when I take ownership of the car in a few weeks.

cool man i've never personally heard anything by morel but would love to hear their new supremo tweeter.

Supremo? Not sure what that is.... The Hybrid set uses their neodymium tweeter.. not sure if it's anything special as far as the morel line goes. Sounded great though. Seemed quite smooth and detailed. Then again I was just standing there getting a chubby from the midbass on them, and A/B comparisons between other lines were done against the MB Quart QSDs (can we say harsh?). That's bound to bolster my opinion of them.

i have to admit something...my reccomendation was on here/say...but it was enough that i wanted a set for the longest time. ive decided to get horns instead tho. i WILL hear some soon tho. ill see to it.

Well... I'd have never bought a set based on one recommendation on the internet and nothing more. After listening though, I was seriously impressed. These should make it VERY easy to bring the bass up front. I was running them off of some funky *** RF amp with a digital control panel on it (it was ****ing cool). The HP corssover I had set at 70hz the morels were taking it rather well. I wanted to see what it would take to get it to start bottoming out severely, but the guy in the shop was completely NOT an *******, so I figured I'd leave well enough alone.
