W 6 killer?

BS. 9 times out of 10, when a 'noob' gets flamed, its for spreading false info as fact (and telling the whole forum they are wrong), causing a comotion or genberally just acting like an idiot ***. New members register and start posting here every day without incident. But, when an over-the-top noob like Grinder shows up acting like a know-it-all or whatever, we are suppose to back off and let them spread their info about how great caps are, Abahn rocks and peak power is where its at. Sorry, not gonna happen, no matter how many people want to whine like little girls if a few feathers get ruffled.
If you have thin skin, try the disney channel.
Indeed another even easier way to think about it is as such.

You're puppy shits on your carpet. You don't sit there and think... "well, it's okay, he's just a puppy..." If you have any sense about you and you grab the newsweek, roll it up and smack the shit out of the little bastard, then you grab it's head, rub it in the mess and say "nooooooooooooooo!".

Now pretend that the puppy isn't even yours, the little ****er just showed up on it's own.

Sensitivity with a subwoofer 1) is measured at 1khz, where NO sub operates, and 2) ignores the enclosure, which vastly affects over-all system sensitivity/efficiency. For most intents and purposes, you can completely ignore sensitivity ratings of subwoofers. That is, unless they come up with a better way to measure/compare them.

True, but like any spec should be taken w/ a grain of salt, it's obviously not the end all be all, but it's a decent starting point. I agree with you though, just like someone created a standard for measuring amps, they should do it with speakers as well, but we'll see if that ever happens.

Its a lousy starting point. Dont bother with it, at all.

Not to mention a man named Hoffman identified a pretty good reason as to why it might be advantageous to have a lower efficiency driver.....
