actually... the info needed to explain your somewhat faulty question has been said in this thread alone. No one was really giving you that hard of a time until you dug yourself 6 ft under.

go there good people not as many ego's

nice place

oh i thought that the higher the sensitivity the more noise it produced.

Eh, in a way if you want to think about it like that I guess you can. But really the sensitivity rating is just another way of saying how efficient the said driver is at turning a given input into music, higher is usually better in my book, takes less power to achieve desired output levels.

If you read between the condescension there is a huge amount of good info here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
you're right alot of great info and people researching can find out everything they need to know.

but when a noob that's trying to learn, ask a question

20 d!ckheads flame the sh!t out of them for not already knowing the awnser to the question the ask.

Usually only when the question has been asked a million times already and they don't have the patience to fully understand the issues behind the answers to their questions. When they want specifics about brand A vs. brand B but don't even know, OR WANT TO BOTHER TO LEARN what RMS wattage is, that's when they get flamed.

Frankly I can't disagree with that, I'd rather put pressure of public humiliation on people too lazy to learn, in car audio or otherwise.

Yes, please go to ROE... way more down to Earth people there. lmao!

BS. 9 times out of 10, when a 'noob' gets flamed, its for spreading false info as fact (and telling the whole forum they are wrong), causing a comotion or genberally just acting like an idiot ***. New members register and start posting here every day without incident. But, when an over-the-top noob like Grinder shows up acting like a know-it-all or whatever, we are suppose to back off and let them spread their info about how great caps are, Abahn rocks and peak power is where its at. Sorry, not gonna happen, no matter how many people want to whine like little girls if a few feathers get ruffled.

If you have thin skin, try the disney channel.

Sensitivity with a subwoofer 1) is measured at 1khz, where NO sub operates, and 2) ignores the enclosure, which vastly affects over-all system sensitivity/efficiency. For most intents and purposes, you can completely ignore sensitivity ratings of subwoofers. That is, unless they come up with a better way to measure/compare them.

Did you miss his point? It was that they are both good, and while both subwoofers... each was designed/built for different intended uses. He was not downing Mercedes in anyway.
Or, were you just wanting to let us know you have a Merc?
It was a joke. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
