Volume problem

I just installed 2 powerbass es sql 15's in a wall in my cutty. It's loud but sometimes I can tell that the volume of the bass diminishes and then comes back .

When the volume decreases it seems like I'm getting a muddy signal. I think the rca's are going...I don't know. I have a constant 14 volts at the amp so I don't think it's a voltage drop . I'm going to try a set of rca's tomorrow...the subwoofer set in my car now have been in there for the last 8 years .

What do you guy's think ?

be sure your grounds are really really good, grinded down metal and all, might have to regrounhd, but if your ground is 8 years old it could be corroded or some shit, check on that

Power and grounds are good...1 gauge power to distro block split to 3 in. of 4 gauge to amp and the same for the ground 3 feet of 1 gauge to distro block with 3 in. of 4 gauge to amp. I have a solid 14 volts geting to the amp at high volume. Have a 200 amp alternater with a yellow top battery. I just starting having this problem when I switched amps. The amp is a power acoustik 3000db. I hope I did't get a bad amp. The bass kicks in and then it just sounds weak when the volume is untouched. It's loud then it's seems like the volume is turned down when it's not and the woofers seem not as clean as they were .

Well the amp went up in smoke today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif . Wasn't even bumping hard...just stopped playing and I started smelling nasty burnt electronics . Amp is less than a week old , now the nightmare of returning it...bought off ebay. Had a feeling I got a bad apple off the start.
