volume going crazy!

so my friend just bought a car today from a police auction. When we turned on the car the HU went to volume 50, it scared the hell out of me now everytime you turn on the car it will do this. Anyone have any ideas to what the problem might be?

on one of my old rockford decks, from 2003 or 2002, it had an option where i could set the volume to 0-30, so everytime i turn the car on it goes 2 that preset volume

that way if u have it cranked at like 27 or 28 then wen u shut the car off and go2 work/school the next mornin it goes 2 like 5 or 6 and not jus cranked from the nite b4

sounds like ur problem is that this option is set to 50 so everytime the car turns on it goes 2 50
