Volume effects?

I have a Xenon 10", 450 rms and can handle as low as .5 sealed. I have a .62 sealed box, which is coming close to it's minimum, but have an amp that I'll be feeding roughly 500 RMS to it with.

So 2 questions: What difference does having a .6 internal versus a .9 internal volume in sound? And, will it be safe to slightly overpower the sub with a smaller box like this?

I didn't want to cross post BUT, that forum has failed to answer the same Q 3 times, including this last attempt. They don't answer it directly, and I don't understand their replies.

The sub won't be able to hit the lows as well in a smaller enclosure. It'll probably be a little tighter bass.

500 RMS is fine.

K, thanks. So A larger allows the sub to extend further and compress further because their is more air to compress and room to do it in?

Anyways, sweet deal, atleast I don't have to fear hurting the sub. It probably will never play full 500 RMS, my ears will bleed before that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Your amp will more than likely bleed before that. Remember, just because it is rated at so much RMS, doesn't mean you get it. Playing music you may be getting half of that, unless it has a really strong, low bassline...
