Volume Displaced by an Aeroport

Okay will be doing a 1.7cu Ported box for a Pioneer TS-W3002SPL..

Going to tune to 33Hz for hip hop (should be good right?)... the calculators I've used so far recommend 15.36 inches of Aeroport tubing (4") - my question is how much is that going to be displacing?

My calculation keeps giving me like .44 cu ft but that seems big to me....

overall diameter is something like 4.25"

the 15.37 figure is correct, but the actual center piece that you cut needs to be 10.37" because the flares are counted as 2.5" each. Also, make it easier on yourself and round it to 10.25". The difference is so minimal you wont hear a change.

Displacement will be like knokin it said, around .14 or so

not sure of the outside diameter..
I ordered the aeroport from Partsexpress.com........ it said 4" diameter but im figuring thats the inside diameter

Hey Fellas

I'm planning on useing the same aeroport except the sub in mind is a 06S12L74 and the enclosure will be 1.75 cu ft. The tuneing freq I would like to be at 35 hz and the port length calculater from the12volt.com gives me a length of 12.87 . Correct me if I'm wrong but would the displacement still be .14? and if so does that mean I would add that .14 to the 1.75 cu ft to get a total of 1.89 cu ft? I could sure use all the help I can get.

for that sub if u plan on running aero ports id try to run atleast 2 if you can.

And for your displacement i get ~.09, as far as adding it to the 1.75 is correct if u want to be left with that 1.75 after u put the port in the box.

Hope that helped

I appreciate all the help and thanks for the quick reply. I gotta ask, why 2 aeroports? and if displacement is .9 then X2 would be like .18? then total vol would be 1.94 cu ft and the lengths of the aeros still wouldnt change?

More port area = higher SPL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif and 1 port is only gonna give u 12" or so of port area which is much at all.

If you add another port the length usualy doubles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif So each would probly need to be like 20" or so

This setup is gonna be for daily driving, so I think I'm gonna stick with just one aeroport. I just wanna make sure. So displacement is gonna be .9 or .14?
