Fiberglass or Wood for small part

I'm trying to build a box to house 2 10's behind my rear seats in my explorer sport trac. I've removed all the plastic and what not, and the back lower part is flat, however there are several fasteners there for random things that can't be removed.

So would it be best for me to glass over that even though it is basicly flat other than the fasteners or just slap a peice of mdf up there?

The reason for the concern is I don't have a lot of depth to work with, so the glass should save me some room, but do you think it's really worth all the hassle?

I know I'm going to have to glass parts of this box anyways so no matter what I'm going to be playing with it anyways.

if space is limited and the glass is going tobe used in spots anyway i say use the glass, it'll form around all the small contours and give you a bit more airspace to play with
