volume adjust?

So I have a jvc kd-r300 hu, I know its a pos, but it's what I am using. If i play cds which is never it is the loudest, the radio is less loud, and my aux. which I use the most is the lowest. The head unit has a volume adjust for the cd and the aux, can I adjust these before I set my amps so I am more level across all 3, or should I keep everything at 0?

Source level adjustments are so you can match volumes to that of the FM source. which is what you need to do. there should be a SLA-Source level adjustment on your deck. try messing with it. and also check your AUX player- IPOD or whatever it is and make sure it is giving at least a 50% output on its part via 3.5mm jack, head phone jacks?

I have SLA for my cd changer. and my CD player and my aux input. but FM is the source I have to match everything up with.

So I use my phone a htc glacier,how do I check for 50% ouput? My hu was $59, its a pos I know, but I think it has a sla feature. Can I adjust that before I set my amps so all are putting out similar voltage to the amps?

yea, that needs to be set first so that your output will be the same across the board.

Before I got my current HU which has USB, I only had AUX and no SLA. I bought one of these Amazon.com: Fiio E3 Headphone Amp: Electronics and it helped a ton.

I can adjust volume on my phone, when I set it should keep it around 75% to help with clipping? Or is it ok to keep up higher?

you would have to put that on an oscope to find out. such a small millivolt sinewave. 75% is a safe number thou.
