voltmeter question

im not getting a reading on my volt meter and when i hooked it up on 200 acv on my buddys it worked find. whats the problem?

Maybe you had your DMM set wrong or blew the fuse in the DMM?

I tried it first on mine, didn't work and right after that I did my friends and it worked perfect

Then went back and started over but only got a max of 1-5 volts but we were able to get the targeted voltage 44.xx for his

no I didnt hear a noise from it I just don't see how it wouldn't work on mine but did right after his

I tried 1st failed

tried my friends worked

tried mine again failed

???
