im running horns and midbass. since the horns can not play down to 300hz (id like that tho) i have the midbass playing to 1khz @ 18db\oct and i have the horns playing from 1khz+@24db\oct
so i get quite a bit of midrange from them and i hated the fact that they were like 60 degrees off axis on the left and maybe 40 off axis on the right.

so yea, it brought the low midrange up high. it was weird because most of the vocals and stuff would be up on the dash with the horns, but when the mids would start kicking in with bass guitar riffs or some tom's or maybe a male voice it would be at maybe the height of the headunit - or pulling way toward the speaker.

now there are a few songs that pull down but i think that is mostly due to the recording or MP3 compression as thats really all i have to play around with besides a IASCA disc - which sounds awesome. so i need to get some more listening material ASAP.

So the midbass blends in well with the midrange and horns or do you have midbass, horns, and tweeters? What processing do you have?

Good job on the pods. BTW those you are lucky u have space to work on the doors ,Great feature that the whole door opens up

Pods and the doors came out great, and its def a noticable difference in the doors from the vid.

I like horns, and I want to try some ID CD1 pro full bodies in a few months or so, but im not sure about having the skill to tune them correctly.

Can we get a vid of the front stage in action?

i can get a video but to be honest, the midbass dont even move as much as they did IB. its nuts, its a lot louder but excursion cut down by at least half.

btw, here is my system setup - power for the amps is only for the impedance loads i have. so here ya go;

Alpine CDA-9830 (saving up to buy DVA-9861 for optical)

Memphis Belle MCH1300 35x2@8 (horns), 75x2@4 (tweets), 800x1@2 (subs)

can you give a quick post on how your have your ish tuned... like phase, T/A-wise.

We have similar setups (excluding the cheating tweets), so I want to compare and see if we have similar presets or what not.

I noticed I have better results with one whole side out of phase.

yup. the CD2 is (to my knowledge) the lowest playing car audio designated horn loaded compression driver available. they are able to play below 1khz, but i was hearing some stupid breakup or something - but only at higher listening levels. so i decided to bring em up one band and crossover 24db\oct. the H701 does do 30db\oct doesnt it... i might drop em back down and give that a go.

as far as time correction\alignment goes i have not had a chance to sit in the car with the RTA or any reference stuff for too long. i THINK i have my left channel out of phase, but im not sure. i have a few tracks i need to burn to a disc that are left\right\center tracks so i can ply around with the phase adjustment...

i did read something the other day - its a neat little trick. you might want to try it (i will)

if you are getting a particular frequency band that is pulling out of center but the rest of the center image is good, you can use the left channel (if its pulling left) EQ to cut those bands pulling left, and boost the same band on the right channel EQ to pull it right. that will be a little bit of a phase\ta adjustment for those particular problem bands.

i still need to sit down for a few hours with some good reference material and do some solid tuning, but i have to get my RTA mic and XLR cord back from a BTdicky. i left it in nort carolina a few weeks ago on accident. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

and there are some veritias horns in the classifieds for a decent price. they always pop up on ebay for 100~200 a pair. i have some full horn lenses for sale if anyone wants some and there are some B&C drivers on partsexpress for a good price to mate up with them. just check my thread in the classified section. but you want to make sure you have the proper EQ\Xover and the devotion to want to tweak them.
