i was talking to a buddy today about sub wiring, and got to the topic of wiring 2 subs with different impedances. how would you calculate that? i thought i read somewhere that the final load would be less than the lowest resistance sub. for example a 2ohm and 8ohm wired in parallel being at 1.6ohm?

well, you probably wouldnt want to

but I think that would be 2.67 in your example

but youd be sending one sub more power than the other.. in a dual chambered box its probably not that noticable, but still, just try and match the impedances to simplify life

no i would never do that. i was just curious because i was playing with the calculator on the12volt.com and it showed 2 and 8 wired in parallel coming out to 1.6. yea i was thinking it would be somewhere in between both.
