voicecoil readings

I just got my hands on D2 IDMAX. One of the coils reads fine, however the other one reads between 1-0.5. How screwed am I?

My friend just bought a type argh and the reading on one of the vc was jumping from 4 to 5.5.... Should he return it?

wont the number constantly jump around if its blown, OR just read 0

check the terminals where the tinsel is soldered on. i had a sub reading that was changing and the terminal wasnt crimped enough. i could wiggle it. just clamped it down harder, little solder, fixed.

I'll have to check that tomorrow cuz my friend isnt here anymore. I'm pretty sure the terminal was fixed right though. The reading would start around 40, then 16, then it'd be jumping around 4-5 and an occasional 16. It only happened on one voice coil.

k, well i'll definitely check that out tomorrow. Weird part is we hooked up both his brand new type rs (10, dual 4, paralleled to 1 ohm) and they both played fine.
