you can do it... I don't think it will damage the speaker but i still wouldnt suggest it.

why do you want to do this?

explain. The only reason I would think you would want to do that is because you would drop the ohm load too low by hooking up both voice coils.

what kind of sub do you have, and what is their voice coil config?

what kind of amp, and what are its stats?

2 kicker copms vr 2 ohm, power acoutik 1000bd. i think the amp 800x1 rms give or a take. stock alt the sub might be getting 325wrm it just not that loud and it is in a ported box tune at 35.

The sub's parameters will also change with only one vc hooked up.

Power acoustik just released the A1000DB which is the amp he is talking about.

And no you cannot just hook up one voice coil as it will more than likely damage the sub and also will void the warranty.

alright, well that is your choice. But i strongly reccomend against it. And there is no way it should be louder unless you had something hooked up wrong before.

If you do that you are cutting the subs power handling in half, so you are now overpowering that single VC and will eventually blow it

Wire it correctly... At 2 ohms that amp will do somewhere in the 500w range, giving each sub 250w, which is a good number for those cvr's (300rms right?)

05 kicker comps vr r 500rms each 250or 300 wrm is not enough power to run both of them.
