Voice coil aint reading right?

Each coil is reading 2.8 but when wired in parallel I get 1.8 to 1.7. I don't think this is right. Anyone care to chime in? Any help is appreciated.

BTW, sub is a dual 2 ohm and 2.8 is pretty close to 3.

what dmm brand are you using? i know my cheap ddm reads resistance between the probes, about .5 ohms... also what sub manufacture and model is it?

run it in series and take the reading. if it reads 4.7-4.8 id bet your ddm reads off .8, also before checking the subs just connect the probes. (some ddms wont read just the probes but can still carry some resistance)

^^ This. Short your DMM leads together and see what the "zero" reading is. You need to subtract that from your readings. Seems like yours is .7-.8 ohms which is a bit high.

Yeah touched them together and came out 0.7.
