Vista Question

So most of you wont be able to help me but I have a question for more expierenced computer users.

I have my new PC and my SSD died, yes I know its hard to believe. Anyways I bought a Seagate 1.5TB HDD and Im short stroking it to 300GB. Well my PC that its going in would allow Seatools to shortstroke it so I did it in my old PC.

I tried transplanting the drive right after using my old PC for the shortstroking but it showed the full 1.5Tb and not 300GB, so I switched back to my old PC and Im running the Vista install on it now BUT

I wasnt sure at what point can I turn off the install and swap the drive over to my other PC. Im really hoping this works and from what Ive read the end result is faster then a velociraptor for half the price.

Been a while since I installed Vista, but doesn't it go through reboots like XP? I always switch primary boot from cd to hard drive after the first one.

Your gonna want to get it before it associates the Vista install with the hardware and installs the drivers.

What ssd did you have? OCZ? I just RMA'ed one o mine a few weeks ago, it died after 6 months:(

I may rma my current ssd even though It hasn't died yet, but I am afraid it will

Current gen ssd are better and more reliable it seems

Last time I sent in my solid series and got back a brand new agility:)
