Like I said, they ""seem like it""... Not measure like it...

When, I buy a sub, I try to match an amp with it, with comparable specs as far as power...

So, I guess I won't know if its putting out .5 to a 100 watts or so less less than rated...

I'm pretty sure no one could...

Even with whatever amp ""Owns All"" this week....

I'm also, not sure if my engine puts out its rated Horsepower...

viper hands down, new hifonics amps arent the greatest thing in the world never seen one produce anywhere near rated power...
and ignore everyone that says you will get 1200w out of the hifonics, especially the brutus series, youll be lucky if you see 900

i didnt think their were underrated by that much.

im for hifonics, however, i never expierenced with viper amps.

i have a brutus bx500d (500rms) and it **** well produces probably double the power of the audiobahn a8000t (800rms) i previously had. it wasnt tested, but it sure sounded and felt like it.

i been running the brutus bx500d for a good 4 months now. perfectly fine.

With AMPs or any car stereo stuff, your going to have people that hate it and love it....

I've got a good friend who Hates JL Audio with a passion and says they are junk/crap/trash, etc.... He tottaly sh!ts on anything JL, I have another whos pretty much the same wth RF.... I also know several people who love the exact same ish.....

Like the PG amp your now looking at... I know a guy that has two of them, that he pushes some 4 PG subs with... He has replaced one or the other of those amps like 4 times now... Does that mean they are crap? No, I'd just say he has had a bad run with them for whatever reason... I know other people that swear by them..

I say go with the Viper. Back a year or so ago when Brutus amps were all the rage, everyone was buying them, like the Type R. A few months later, everyone learned that not all of them did exactly rated power, nor were all of them 1 ohm stable. =\

what were the PGs he was runnin

do they acually put out 1500wrms @ 2 ohms. Are they 1 ohm stable.....Alot of different sites have diff. specs

Not sure of the model, but I thought it was like 1500 watts.. At 2 Ohms and I didn't think it was stable at 1... I think he has two 4 oh Subs in Parallel on each amp...

It Seems to power them well, it just how many he replaced... But then again, I dunno how hard he runs them, how the gains or set or how they are wired... Lots a variables in this stuff..

Swapped out the BX1500d for my Orion 1200d. Night and day in musical reproduction. If you can't afford the Orion buy the Hifonics. But that is the only way I would choose the HiFonics over the Orion.
