viper 791xv remote start question

I got a viper 791 xv with remote start now when i remote start it it starts up then dies down like 3 seconds later and the starts up again does this off and on, and till i put the key in and press the brake,anyone know why? thanks

It sounds like its programmed to run like that, look at your programming instructions to see how to set your run time/valet switch

sounds like its not fully starting up did the installer use the correct tach wire?

^^ I have no idea, im pretty sure it not meant to run like that.

yeah when it keeps trying to start its not fully starting up so if its run off tach its not finding the tach signal correctly and if run of voltage its not receiving the voltage sense

A DEI remote start will attempt to start 3 times before it gives up. There are a variety of reasons why it may not be starting, but the quickest thing to try is re-learning tach. Locate your valet switch (black pushbutton). Start the vehicle then within 5 seconds press and hold the valet switch. Within a second or two, the LED should light up and stay on. If it doesn't, then your tach sensor isn't connected correctly. If it lights up, but doesn't solve your problem, then probably something else is wrong and you should take it back to the installer for troubleshooting.

I remote started vehicle (didnt put key in or press brake) then i then i held the valet switch within 5 sec and the led light didnt come on, but this time the vehicle stayed on ,it seems it only shut off and turns back on half the time.

If you had a shop do it, bring it back.

If you did it, bring it to someone that knows what they're doing...

My guess is either tach isn't hooked up properly or you need a bypass module...
