vifa XT25 - Did I ever tell you the time I...

I almost picked these up. Went with the Vifa NE25's instead. I think it was just wanting to be different, because everyone runs those XT25's. Not saying there isn't a good reason for it, but I just wanted something a bit different.

What tone/power on this?

I ran the small format version and saw excursion a few times when playing ZZ Top "La Grange"
Never played with the full format version, heard it digs even deeper.
It's crazy what comes out of these when played full range on low power. Between the actual overtones and your ear/brain system filling in the rest, you can actually hear bass notes. I'm talking near-field on a bench, here. Zaph is stern on not using them to cross low due to the 3rd order hash around 1.5k but I don't find it offensive at all on a 6db slope.

This was a 50hz sine and I have no idea what power level. Not much, I'm sure. I just wanted to see what the mechanical capabilities were because I knew I would be using a gentle slope.

Whats the off axis response on these things like?

they fall off bad as you can see from the graph. When I first installed them I wasn't happy at all as they were in the doors. Moved them to sail panels firing into opposite headrests and they came alive...
