Vifa, Mypre, MB Quart Active Install!!!!

sounds good man, I need to get my Mypre's istalled. I didnt think those tweets would take that much power
Well i got the gain tuned just a hair on the tweets, right off the bat they sounded amazing, just turned it up a tad. They are 50rms, the mids on the other hand, i am going to throw as much as i can lol.

Looks good, I have the same amp on the way here, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Love that HU, I would have bought one from Sonicelectronix when they were at the closeout price, but sold out before I could snatch one up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Overall, nice man, cant wait til my 4125 gets here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah i think i got the last one cause when i bought mines, i went back like a week later to see some reviews and it was discontinued. I have a rare unit, and the amp is simple bad ass for a Maxxsonics product. Your gonna love it, best $136 ever spent

Nice gear. I ran an all VIFA front stage 10 or so years

ago. Really nice quality drivers for the price. Back then

they made a VERY nice 3" mid. You said in your earlier

posts you may do a 3way front stage when you learn

how to glass. Subscribe to my thread and I'll do a step

by step process for you when I start my door panels. Its

really a very easy process, to me it takes more time to

clean up than it is working with the stuff. Epoxy resins

though more expensive can be cleaned up with vinegar

believe it or not.

If you do end up going for a 3way front stage it would be

really cool to do so with all Vifa. Something you don't see

often and IMHO cant be beat for the price. If you go the

Quart route years back they made an 8" woofer that to

me is as clean as really high end 400+ buck drivers. They

are however, very hard to find. If you go VIFA look for the

3" mid, and I think 7" woofer.

Someone asked you how those tweeters sound or compare

them to something similar. I would have to say they are very

much like the silk dome Polk MM's in the late 90's or the

Infinity Kappa's same vintage. Really smooth, not harsh at

all and pretty efficient.

Very nice writeup, and I believe I remember the Quart 8"s you were referring too, my cousin had a set of them from one of the high end shops sometime in the mid to late 90s......and I LOVED the sound of the Polk MM's from 98 to 99 esp the tweeters...just could not afford the $400 price tag back then lol. They were so smooth though...

THANKS TEZ! I had hoped it made sense, often once

I take my meds things don't come out the way I mean

them.

I don't recall the old POLK MM'S costing 400 bucks. The

number that comes to mind is 199 for the tweeters. Just

the same, that was pretty expensive for its time. Oddly

when I was looking for my old wiring I came across some

of those tweeters. I thought they were long gone. I knew

I still had the MM6510s(guessing that is correct). Come to

think of it the old MTX Black Gold tweeters were also very

good, accurate without being too harsh or bright.

The Quart 8's that I referenced were the ones in this photo

The grills cost nearly as much as some of todays components,

I think I paid 100 or so each:wow: but worth it to me. I cant

wait to hear them once again.
