Video works no audio

i installed the new alpine iva w205 in my truck last week and everything worked fine. i did not bother connecting the parking break and foot break then because i was just going to wait untill my pac tr7 video bypass came in. well when i went to install the bypass the other day and i try to play a dvd it will play the dvd but there is no audio. the same thing happens when i play a cd. but when i switch the source to my ipod or radio it works fine. is this something that happened when wiring the bypass or did i mess with a setting somewhere??
